The National Programme Manager,  SOML-PforR , Dr. Ibrahim Kana during a courtesy visit to the Zamfara state governor at the government house,  Gusau.

Dr. Kana congratulated the governor on his recent election and advised him to make health a priority, especially using the PforR approach. 

The National Programme Manager expressed deep concern on the deplorable state of health in Zamfara state especially the fact that Zamfara state came first in the 2016 survey, only for the state to then become stagnant. He further wondered why the state is yet to access it’s over six million Dollars from SOML,  although he attributed that to the poor technical capacity of the state.

Dr. Kana offered further Technical Assistance to the state but stated the state bureaucracy would have to sit up.

The governor was pleased to announce that peace has been restored after striking peace accord with the bandits. He promised to focus on Health and Education while calling on Development Partners to return to the state.
